Who We Are

Smile Again Families Foundation was founded in 2014, when a Ugandan couple, Fred and Stella decided to support abandonment teenage mothers in their community and the whole country, to realize the value of life and the hidden potential with in them. After they felt a call to support young couples to embrace Christian marriage, we realized that some marriages struggle as a result of childhood brokenness which is never addressed but remains underlying. One of them is early pregnancies from rape, defilement which sometimes end in early marriages which was increasing in their community.

They established their mission to identify and restore hope of the victims of teenage pregnancies, empowering them to discover their inner worth through psycho-social support, vocational and entrepreneurial skills training, supporting them to engage in self-development for improved livelihoods and socially reintegrating them into their communities.

In the past 10 years, 798 young mothers’ lives have been transformed and changed, 1,250 reached out,8 catholic parishes, 50 solidarity groups in communities formed and 6 mothers back to school to achieve their dreams, 107 in vocational skills. This mission is critical for bringing hope to these communities as they equip young women for economic sustainability and emotional stability.
