Building Hope, Creating Opportunities

Smiling Back To School

Our major target as an organization is to help teenage mothers restore their hope, and dream again for their future without being stuck in the vicious cycle of regrets. In most cases, it requires the mother to go back to school and continue with her studies. This project supports young mothers back into formal education or vocational skills as a way of helping them to have a bright future not only for them but also for their babies. This project provides an opportunity for friends and partners to take on a young mother whom they support in achieving their dreams.

Thank you.

Nabasumba Gloria

I am Nabasumba Gloria and I am a mother of one. The reason I am writing this letter is that I am looking for support to go back to school. I studied and dropped out in form one and I became pregnant during the Coved pandemic. When I got pregnant I ran away from home and went to Masaka town because I was scared of my parents. When I reached town life wasn’t all good because I reached time and it was hard for me to work due to the fact that I was pregnant and I decided to go back home. I desire I get support to go back to school because I am undermined at home calling me illiterate which tortures me a lot.

Namiggo Miria WP Team Lead, Wpmet

My name is Namiggo Maria and I am 15 years and my Mum was late Nassozi Cissy and my Dad is Muwawu Vicent. I studied two classes and it was my mum paying for me school fees and when my mom died my dad married another wife who convinced him that I don’t need to go to school and during that time coved came. When coved ended I went back in P.3 but I started feeling sickly and when they checked me they realize that I was pregnant and I continued to be sick but later I got a miscarriage just because I was young. After this my Father refused to pay for me school fees that I have ashamed him and that how I dropped out of school. I desire to go back to school in P.4 and I continue with my studies because I wish to become a nurse and I change my life and I wish not mess my life again with early pregnancy.

Bukirwa Winnie

My name is Winnie, I am Bukirwa and I live in a small town named Ssunga, which is located in Masaka City. I am 17 year olds and I want to go back to school, but I need help. I stopped going to school during COVID, but got to go to a Fashion and Design School. I didn’t get to graduate because I got pregnant and my parents kicked me out of the house. With this, they stopped helping me pay my tuition for school. I was left alone during my whole pregnancy and they refused to help me. I am now staying with my grandmother and I am expecting to give birth this year. After giving birth I would like to go back to school in order to support myself and my child. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Nayebale Immaculate

GREETINGS TO you all, I am Nayebale Immaculate and I am 18 years old. I am an orphan and I stopped studying when I am 10 years in primary six. My life has been so tough ever since I lost my parents. I started working at that young age as a maid in people’s and it was so tough at that young age that I failed to maintain it. I was chased from that home and I started staying on the streets where I was raped by two men and I got pregnant. Later I realized that I was pregnant by unknown people and it resulted into a miscarriage. Though I got a miscarriage I was left HIV+ which has bothered me a lot. I have a dream to go back to school and I become a nurse. This will help me to sustain and provide for my life and to improve my standard of living.
